Welcome to an environment where natural beauty abounds. Econfina River Resort is located in one of the few native areas left of the big bend of north Florida.

In the early 1980's we acquired a large tract of land along the Gulf of Mexico, which had an old fish camp with minimal facilities most of which were run down. It has taken over 15 years to rebuild and renew the resort while adding housing and R/V accommodations. During the process we made every effort to preserve the natural surroundings. In 1988 the State of Florida took over the timberland, adding it to the Econfina River State Preserve, which essentially stopped any new developments.

We have captured the ambiance of an old Florida “Fish Camp” with modern facilities. Our repeat guests are fishermen and avid outdoors persons from South Georgia, Eastern Alabama, and North Florida. Since 1990 more people traveling in R/V's have stopped at Econfina to overnight and enjoy the charm of this rural setting. In all, more than 4,000 guests returned to Econfina during 2007.

Our goal is to make this resort a safe, secure, family oriented place where people can escape from the stress of city life to a simpler life style. We hope they will find old friends and create new ones. Our out-of-state guests are especially welcome to mix in with the real folks who enjoy the atmosphere. We hope they will “Wet a Hook”, enjoy the friendly staff and feel right at home with our regulars!!
